Welcome!

This is the homepage of the Acoustic Communication Laboratory at the University of Minnesota. Our mission is to understand how and why animals use acoustic signals to convey information to other individuals in biologically important contexts, such as social and reproductive interactions. To accomplish this mission, we integrate behavioral, bioacoustic, biophysical, psychophysical, and neurophysiological approaches to test hypotheses about the mechanisms and evolution of acoustic communication systems. Most of our work uses North American treefrogs as a model system. Please check out our research pages and publications for more information.
